Looking Back
Moving Forward

Redeemer Lutheran School began serving children in 1983.  Preschool classes were held in the Fellowship Hall of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakmont, and enrollment grew from one class to three over the next 10 years.  Additional grades began to be added in 1993, and by 2007, we graduated our first group of eighth graders.

Within a few years, it was clear that we were outgrowing our current facility.  With the help of a member who worked as a real estate agent, as well as an "angel" donor, the former Shenandoah Elementary School in Penn Hills was purchased in May of 2011.  K-8th grades were moved to this campus, with the bulk of our preschool programming remaining at Oakmont.

In 2023, the Lord provided another opportunity for a nearby property.  With a diligent amount of prayer, generosity, and elbow grease, the former St. Gerard Majella church was purchased and renovated, and Redeemer Lutheran High School students walked through the doors of their own campus for the 2023-2024 school year.

Redeemer now serves students at 3 campuses.  Our school growth has been designed by the Lord every step of the way.  It has been, and continues to be, an amazing adventure.
