Sophomore Arrow

Upon entering sophomore year, students will have/have had:

  • an opportunity to serve on Student Council/Executive Council
  • taken Biology Keystone Exam, possibly Algebra Keystone Exam
  • taken two online courses
  • started their digital portfolio
  • an opportunity to attend the summer mission trip
  • an academic meeting with high school faculty

During sophomore year, students will be able to:

  • serve on Student Council/Executive Council
  • take Literature Keystone Exam
  • prepare for and take PSAT exam in the fall (at school, at school’s cost)
  • achieve RAM status and earn certain privileges
  • use technology to enhance the educational process
  • attend the high school dinner dance
  • participate in the annual Reformation Bowl
  • serve as a chapel buddy
  • volunteer through various mission projects (Blessing Board, RLS Kindergarten, Concordia visits, summer camp counselor)
  • participate in extracurricular activities including, but not limited to, musicals, plays, high school robotics, and athletics
  • attend a college prep night at RLS
  • attend a college fair

Upon exiting sophomore year, students will:

  • have an opportunity to join National Honor Society
  • have an opportunity to retake the PSAT exam if they wish to be considered for a National Merit Scholarship
  • prepare to take the SAT exam in the fall/spring of Junior year
  • begin researching colleges/universities
  • prepare to take/retake Keystone Exams junior year
  • consider taking online college courses and/or AP courses the following year
  • begin researching scholarship and grant opportunities
